Men become more irritable as testosterone levels decrease. I am confused.

This is true. In fact, low testosterone levels can lead to a number of health problems. It's not uncommon for older men to wear testosterone patches to help keep things in balance.

It's not unlike estrogen replacement therapy for women.

(but seriously - after reading this i am calling my doc. 2001 was a nightmare of depression and baseless anger when there was every reason it should have been otherwise. i even had a heart attack last july, and it's been a long while since i've felt myself, er i mean, felt normal. this could be very good news...)

Quonsar: do it. There's no need to suffer. Whether he prescribes hormone replacement or happy pills, it's worth it: the meds are a tool to achieve normalcy. With any luck, you'll even be able to drop the meds once you've stabilized.
