Planned Parenthood confirms hack attempt

the self-professed hackers said they were “the social justice warriors, seeking to reclaim some sort of lulz for the years and thousands of dollars that Planned Parenthood have wasted." On Sunday night, the tech news site Daily Dot spoke to an individual claiming to have accessed information such as internal emails, though no such information has yet been released. The group did post email addresses of staff members and what it claimed were passwords.
It does not appear that the breach exposed the personal data of patients or employees of Planned Parenthood's affiliate organizations. The attack comes after three controversial videos (and threats of more) that purport to show illegal sales of fetal tissue and other improprieties by Planned Parenthood. The videos are made by a group called "The Center for Medical Progress" which appears to be part of a larger group of organizations devoted to attacking abortion rights.

This post was deleted for the following reason: This is a bad thing that happened, but dudez trolling Planned Parenthood, or Planned Parenthood supporters, seems like not a great start for a conversation that's anything but grar. -- LobsterMitten
With the 'social justice warriors' jargon, this feels like some mutant offshoot of the reddit hatesubs and gamer-gate.
Yes, exactly.

Why would they just say "thousands of dollars"? Is that supposed to be a lot of money?

Or people who have picked up on the semantics and jargon that passes as public debate these days.

One of the hackers, who goes by the pseudonym “E,” told the Daily Dot that the cyberattack was politically motivated.
“Trying to mold an atrocious monstrosity into socially acceptable behaviors is repulsive,” said E. “Obviously what [Planned Parenthood] does is a very ominous practice. It'll be interesting to see what surfaces when [Planned Parenthood] is stripped naked and exposed to the public.”
Transparency is very important, says the cowardly fuck who hides behind a pseudonym.

In an incoherent statement on their website, the self-professed hackers said they were “the social justice warriors, seeking to reclaim some sort of lulz for the years and thousands of dollars that Planned Parenthood have wasted and made harvesting your babies.”
