"New Pal" - the latest comic in a series that Lauren Monger has been cartooning for Vice. More Lauren Monger comics and drawings (most of which involve the same cast of beautifully-watercolored animal friends) at her tumblr and her twitter.

Most of the new kids have only tried mung cut with non-dairy creamer and think they're trying the real stuff. The other day I saw an honest to god "ironic" scrundle kit at Urban Outfitters - ceramic spork, tiny vial of otter's tears, even the tiny paintbrush you daub it with. I have no idea how they can sell that legally.

NO NO NO why does the possum have human feets?!!
That's an opossum, which would naturally have hands for feet and feet for hands. If that's what you'd prefer, I really don't know what to tell you. Weirdo.

I love how the gender of the characters is just suggested through their names and body shapes. Clem dresses exactly like everyone else and has a realistic animal face; she occassionally wears a black tank top, and she's shorter and has slightly less broad shoulders than, say, Kyle. I love that there was no need to give her eyelashes or a pink bow or whatever.
