Hrm. I swore this had been discussed here before, but I can't find anything. The reason the pages look so similar is that the members are given very strict rules as to what can be said(not news), and (I seem to recall) even offered a very simple tool for producing their sites, which is of course, standardized, and limited. Some info at Salon, although not exactly what I was looking for. As for Narconon, have a look at this for some amusement.

From the one with a pic: "Then I had had an awful fear of getting married and was always picking the wrong kind of guy. I was nearly 30 and my female clock was running out. It took a little bit more of Dianetics counseling to uncover the reason and I was married 4 weeks later and have two wonderful children that are the light of my life." Apparently the reason was "because I hadn't yet paid the Church thousands of dollars to bind me to my perfect ~~master~~ husband. Shiver.
