There are several of these in the UK this summer, all for charity in a similar model - for example, Birmingham is hosting the big hoot, some amazing owls (I'm a fan of the Bone Ranger) for Birmingham's Children's Hospital.
Both Bristol and London are hosting Shaun in the City, from the Wallace & Gromit stable, also raising funds for children's hospitals.
