Darlene Love's new music video features cameos from Joan Jett, Bill Murray, Paul Shaffer, her 'Forbidden Nights' songwriter Elvis Costello, and her album's producer, Steven Van Zandt, who once called her "the greatest singer in the world." Van Zandt appears in the video being strangled by another Love collaborator and fan, Bruce Springsteen.

Stay to the very end for another fan passing on his respects.

Her new album, Introducing Darlene Love, follows her appearance in the Oscar-wining documentary Twenty Feet from Stardom.

Goddammit, I thought this was an obit. Don't do that to me.

Darlene Love is a National Treasure.

She reminds me of Christmas more than Jesus.

Sure wish it was a better song. Unfortunately, you can't summon up a classic at will, hard as they seemed to have tried. Perhaps they should have called, Billy Joel. He actually has a pretty good record of creating great songs that sound like they've been around forever, e.g. "Uptown Girl" and "Say Goodbye to Hollywood" (here's a great version by Darlene Love's old Phil Spector-era pal, Ronnie Spector.

I am fully prepared to be hearing this constantly from September through Memorial Day, because it will be a season anthem here as sure as the sun rises. She still knocks it out cold.

Correction on the Billboard article that's linked here with the video:
That's Ula Hedwig not Patti Scialfa in the back of the car!

All respect. She may have a great voice but holy shit is this track over-produced.
