That was funny enough to overlook the vertical format. :)

Actually, the vertical format helped make it work.

And it's already a gif.

Philo did it!

That cat is too stinkin' cute. Must. Cuddle.

That's the end? I thought that the season finale was delayed because it was too similar to something that happened somewhere else... I'm confused now.

I was one hundred percent expecting to see a person getting stuck in the cat door while the cat watched. This was even better.

The first comment is someone saying eventually the cat will be smart enough to teach you not to film vertically.

However, the later comment where the person suggests changing the doorknob to a knob instead of a handle and then see who's smart is the winner.

We used to have a cat that would open doors with the normal round door knobs, it would use both paws and manage to turn them. The same cat would also jump up on the kitchen sink and turn on the faucet to get a drink. Unfortunately, it wouldn't turn it back off.

This is why we changed most of the knobs in our house - the Siamese would open them whenever he wanted.

Cats--my cats--do not intuitively know how to put their faces up against something and push until it opens and they can go through it. When I installed a cat door I had to leave the flap off for a week until they got used to using the passage. Then put it on part way so they could get used to having it there and pushing it aside, then installed it fully.

Also, one cat learned first, and the others followed. And we have round knobs, so they really had no choice if they wanted to eat.

I wanted to make a cat-related Philae lander joke but I can't think of any. :(

We had to take the flap off of the dome litter box entryhole because our cat would go in to do his business, and then meow sadly because he couldn't figure out how to get out.
