Because the Internet needs more

Rice University Fondren Library maintain a guide to cat videos on the web. But what do they think? Meanwhile, in the UK Labour Party leadership contest, socialists cannot vote, but cats can. And people like watching cat videos on TV. And as for Tinder for cats? There's an app for that. But, why so popular? And why does Larry Ellison like them? So do you want more? Why not go on a cat holiday, or run away and join the cat circus?

And, of course, it's a LibGuide.

I say this as an academic librarian: both the subject and the format embody a lot of what gets on my nerves about contemporary librarianship.

Because I never knew this was an option until now. BRB have some planning to do.

My mom babysat my toddler the other day and showed him cat videos, much to his delight. He is sick today so he is on my lap and mostly being very quiet and pitiful, but he keeps meowing and pointing at my laptop.

It makes me very happy that Fondren Library has a guide to cat videos. (My alma mater: still my kind of place.)

I'm so glad that Rice University is spending hard-earned tuition money on things actually needed by society. OMG.

The average cat is considerably cuter than the average grad student.

Yeah, that section of the website must be costing as much as like $15 dollars a year! With 3,965 enrolled students, that means they're taking up to 0.37 cents of your hard-earned tuition money! If you graduate in the average four years, you may have wasted a whopping 1.5 cents!! And that doesn't even take into account interest due to student loans. We might be talking as much as 2 or even 2.5 cents over the long run! Bastards!
