Slim Shady sees the light! "Eminem has given up alcohol and purple pills...He is 'trading in his hardcore hip-hop MO and going the gospel rap route.'" Furthermore, he's opening a church. Is this all a marketing scam? Something seems shady.

Um..

Although it may be true that Em has sobered up (Proof cites his partner's probation for that), it was obvious they were kidding about the religious transformation as they hung out in their hotel room prior to a show at the Hammerstein Ballroom with Gorillaz.

Alright, he may not be opening a church, but it seems like the Twilight Zone in music lately. One of the Backstreet Boys is arrested and Eminem is now all goody goody two shoes. I can see him in a boy band within a few years.

you guys are so cynical you aren't even reading what you're writing. since when has going gospel or being born-again ever paid off for a rebellious singer/rapper/performer?

Dylan converted way back when, and even his most devoted critics still preface their praise with "...except for his Christian stuff." So what marketing genius is going to say, "it didnt work for Dylan, but I think we can do it with Em."

One-third of US are Christians and about three-thirds of rappers wear platinium diamond-encrusted crusifixes and praise Jesus when they win awards, it's about time that one of them actually took a stab at one of the hardest tricks to pull off in music: to sing about Faith and not appear completely stupid.

If any rapper can do it, I think Eminem can, I can't wait.

For those of you too young to remember, MC Hammer, after preaching clean lyrics and religious lyrics like,

he turned around and tried a weird gangsta rap thing on Death Row records with a song that went a little like this

"Pumps and a bump, Pumps and a bump
We like the girls with the Pumps and a bump

Is a girl that is tight
Ladies:
All that we want is a man that is right
Who can hit it all night..."

Now, of course, he's preaching again.

Preach on, brother.

Wait. Eminem got to be around Miho Hatori?! And I didn't?! Eminem?! How can anyone possibly claim existance of a any type of god after this insane injustice!?

how appropriate that eminem should go from being the most notably misogynistic rapper ever to probably working in the most misogynistic wing of the church. at least this time he will be able to justify his hatred of all that is not heterosexual and/or male.
