Seriously tho - the affect this could have on the disabled (potentially and ideally) could be enormous. Could a mechanical arm actually be integrated with the human nervous system? Could these principals be stretched to vocalization techniques as well? When does science fiction become reality? And when will I stop twitching from the caffiene? The future is now. There's a man in France who is paralyzed from the waist down.
Recently he started walking. There is a computer system which stimulates his muscles directly in sequence to permit him to walk.
