ugh can we PLEASE stop calling any photography of food "food porn"? It's ridiculous. This is just gourmet cuisine photographed by a professional. It's not pornography, it's just good food presented with style.

So, it's only food porn if it's a picture of a sailor going to town on a load of bread dough?

(Yeah, read that story on Kitchenette. Cannot unread it.)

Most of these are funny because of the juxtaposition of the description and the image. But this description is pretty accurate.

"gourmet cuisine photographed by a professional" is a 100% apt description of the linked content and I will fight anyone who disagrees.

I can't be the only one who thinks that ramen-as-bread sandwich looks kind of good

There's a place called Ramen Burger that will serve you a burger in between two pucks of cooked-but-intact ramen. Not the easiest thing to eat, but tasty!

idgi really, ramen isn't even delicious carbs. i want a burger between two potato pancakes or a woven lattice of french fries.

oh or i guess those would be waffle fries.

and the garnish is a tiny hamburger between two halves of a new potato coated in breadcrumbs to resemble a tiny bun

If you eat a hotdog any way besides Chicago style, you're a heathen. It's Crest and strawberry fudge syrup, but still.

Pretty sure that one with the fruit loops is a dish served at Cereality...

You know how you can tell it's a Chicago dog?

They put a salad on it.

(New York dirty water hot dogs for life.)

As a native Philadelphian, with strong opinions on cheesesteaks, this one made me terribly offended and amused at the same time.

(Fuck both Pat's and Geno's.)
God damn I wish I could find a passable cheesesteak in New York...

I would love to see someone hack a cooking game show like Chopped and then serve something like gummi bears on a tortilla with maple syrup to the judges. It would have to be on a tortilla because I like the way Aaron Sanchez says "Your torrr-teee'-ya is bland and flavorless!"

I want this. I want this because the Chopped judges are the worst. I want the contestant to do nothing for all but the last five minutes of the cooking period, and then just fill three perfect porcelain bowls with diced up bits of all the ingredients and a cup of Cayenne pepper. And then I want that chef to just stare down the judges until they finish the entire bowls. Then she puts the meal on the cutting board, flips the double deuce, and walks out.
