Tragedy turned to slapstick

Benny Hill This makes all YouTube videos better by speeding them up and adding Yakkity Sax music. Technology has advanced from the last Benny Hill-ifier on MeFi in 2008, when speeding up technology did not yet exist. Some suggestions: Car chases! Light saber duels! Dirty Dancing (forward in three minutes for maximum enjoyment)! Donald Trump!

Works very well for the trailer for "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World".

I did not mean for the Donald Trump link to go to the car chase. But I am comfortable with how it turned out.

When Master Pancake live-mocked The Hunger Games, they applied Yakety Sax to sped-up video of the hound chase. I literally can't remember laughing harder in a movie theater...

It's no Yakety Max, that's for sure.

Also handy if you find the laugh track on Benny Hill to be a bit much.

Wow. I'm embarrassed to admit how addictive this is.

Nothing I've found beats Benny Hinnll. But, SF in 1906, pengins, the running of the bulls, robot soldier mules, Thather's funeral, Putin Judo, the pope, and Schwarzenegger are all entertaining. Even things that were meant to be funny are worth a try.

Bennyhilling the Odessa Steps, on the other hand, makes the scene shocking and uncomfortable in new and interesting ways, though it isn't exactly fun. Police attacking protesters, car crashes, and rocket explosions are even more disconcerting but less interesting.

Now we just need someone to combine this with Incognitube and all productivity will vanish in a puff of metaentertainment.

Also, a random walk from this post lead me to discover ISTAQSINAAYOK (koyaanisqatsi in reverse), which is rather nice.

While it can transform tragedy into slapstick, there may be such a thing as too far.

There was never a piece of moving picture media that was enhanced, or left undamaged, by the addition of Yakety Sax.

Works great with single take fight scenes:

Oldboy

Tom Yum Goong

Hard Boiled.

Oh wow action scenes are fun with this. I like how the video speeds up as the music does. Between this and the website that makes image macros (memes) for you I feel like all my Internet needs circa 2003 have finally been met.

They Live.
