Ten Years of Sexual Harassment In Astronomy

Prominent astrophysicist Geoffrey Marcy (previously) was recently found to have violated UC Berkley's sexual harassment policies over a period of ten years. However, the sanctions brought against Marcy by UC Berkeley are minimal. Adding insult to injury, the institution sent out a memo asking that its alumni and students provide "any understanding or support they can offer" to Marcy in this time of need. The incident has triggered broader discussion about sexual harassment in astronomy and academia.
