The Mads Mikkelsen/Hugh Dancy one is pretty great. It should be on the cover of a box set of Hannibal Season 2.

These are done really well but the end product sometimes-- I mean, the Taylor Swift, Kristen Stewart, and Natalie Dormer are totally unchanged by being mixed with Emma Watson. I wouldn't even know that they had been modified if shown to me without context.

On the other hand Jake Bomer and Ethan Pitt need to exist in the real world immediately.

She barely has a face. You couldn't pick her out of a lineup of one. Under her yearbook picture it said "Not Pictured."

(But seriously: She just looks too similar to the others, half-of-face-wise.)

Well I mean that's kind of true, though. Emma Watson is a very plain (not used in a pejorative way) looking person. She's beautiful, but there's also nothing especially noticeable about her features. If you had to describe her to somebody, you'd be hard pressed to come up with something more specific than "very, very pretty" with perhaps some additional comment like "has eyebrows." So mixing Emma Watson with other, more distinctive-looking women just makes them look like more polished versions of themselves.

so, Emma Watson should be the instagram filter of celebrity selfies, is what I'm thinking.

Lots of these, like the Jeremy Renner and Chris Pratt, are more like one actor made up to look like another actor. Pratt especially is just Pratt after he was told to give his best Harrison Ford smirk.

Tom Hardy also comes through very strongly. It would be interesting to pit Pratt against Hardy to see whose physiognomy wins out.

I think the interesting thing about the mash ups are how generic looking movie stars are... I mean, these mash ups are very attractive people but the best adjective to use when describing them is "famous looking". I think it says something about how thin the genetic stock is in the entertainment business.

But yeah - holy shit Matt Bomer and Jake Gylnnhall should have a kid fast! And by kid - I mean a grown man who is age appropriate for me.

Emma Watson is only considered beautiful because:
1.) she is famous <- actually the more important factor
and
2.) has access to good makeup and hair artists.

I found the Chris Pratt/Harrison Ford one to be the most striking, in terms of not looking pretty much like one of the people with just a little change, maybe. Most of them are not that different from one of the two supposedly used.

Of the ones I recognized, that is. I only know who maybe 2/3 of these people are, anyway. Ah, advancing age.

Stuff like this is fun mainly because it helps me think through which features of each person are their most distinctive. Hairline is always one that I forget about. Caricaturists zero in on this stuff and it's always so impressive to me, the ability to break a face down in that way and see the parts as separate from the whole.

Have you seen those "can you guess the celebrity from just their eyes" quizzes? Same thing. We're so built to memorize faces that tiny little differences between eye crinkles can be enough.

Emma Watson is only considered beautiful because: [some bollocks]

If a given person is considered to be beautiful, but you don't think that person is beautiful, then it is not that all the other people are wrong. It is that you personally don't find that person beautiful. You don't speak for everyone. Please don't do that.

Sure, whatever. Benedict Cumberbatch the checkout clerk would not in any universe be considered hot, either.

So, I don't know who the other lady celebrities are (except Swift), so all I recognize are the Emma Watson features y'all are claiming don't exist.

Yes that's where I'm at. I haven't gone out to the movies in about 4 years and if we do watch a movie at home it is inevitably foreign. I've also pretty much up on American TV so it is really hard to keep up with the new actors.

My viewing experience of these photos was that someone dominated in every case. Kristen Stewart doesn't even look altered but maybe that's because I'm not all that familiar with her (the Twilight series passed me by.)

I was surprised that the Arnold Schwarzenegger + Colin Farrell had hardly any Schwarznegger shining through. Some people like Colin Farrell just have stronger features and by "stronger" I mean less regular and even. I do think that irregular features can make a person's face. I don't think Audrey Hepburn would have been as beautiful without her distinct nose and that's why I'm against most plastic surgery for people who don't need it medically. Plastic surgery tends to make everyone look more generic and interchangeable.

Pratt especially is just Pratt after he was told to give his best Harrison Ford smirk.

And totally nailing it. It looks like they were in a body switch movie and Ford's character inside Pratt's body is trying to convince his wife of what happened and Pratt's Ford impression is amazing.

Seeing Harrison Ford and Chris Pratt only reminds me of how much Chris Pratt reminded me of Han Solo in Guardians, down to the smoothness and jokes.

I feel like it's not thaaaaat far. It's nice to imagine Pratt in a Han Solo costume...

Or, more so, if he does at-their-peak Johnny Depp and Duran Duran's John Taylor!

Say, does ThatNordicGuy take requests?
