Robot - Brew Me a Beer

With the almost record level of breweries operating in the US (4,000 and counting), beer (at least craftbeer) has never been more popular. The homebrewing hobby has exploded as well. Long the realm of nerdy paunchy white dudes with engineering degrees, the robots have arrived to put them out of work. In the last few days, the internet has seen new (or re-opened) crowdfunding efforts for the PicoBrew, the Brewie and the MiniBrew - all promising to automate the art of brewing on your countertop. Is it really a "crafted" product? Will homebrewing survive the rise of the robots? Will they do to homebrew what the Keurig did to coffee? Could these machines break open the gender disparity in homebrewing by reducing the manual aspects of the process? (~96% male)
