I know three kitties that are getting brushed and cleaned tonight.

Your definition of delightfully photogenic is different than mine.

Hey, that's Lil Bub! Out of all of them, she's basically still just Lil Bub.

After the day I had, I relate too much to the photos of that first cat after the description (the black/white/gray stripey one).

This is what the internet was made for.

Seems like they snuck in a couple photos of Lil' Bub just sitting still, but whatever.
I kind of admire this ability of cats, dogs, and probably some other species I haven't actually seen doing it. It's a weird, very rapid, whole-body twist which they've obviously evolved over millennia to the point of being very effective. If you don't think it's worthy of admiration, let's see *you* do it.

I wish I could do this, just shake everything loose and let it realign naturally.

Note: do not manually shake cats.

I'm pretty allergic to cats, and these shots are basically moments of nightmare frozen in time for me. Are cat owners just 100% cool with one third of their lung capacity being occupied by dander at any given time?

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww @ the Devon Rex. Also, it's interesting to see how much dander they let fly.

Just looking at these is raising welts on the back of my hands, my forearms are itching furiously, my sinuses are going into shutdown, I've got that burny feeling at the back of my throat, and I can feel a couple of hives breaking out on my neck. Yes, I'm very allergic to cats. Probably going to have to pop an antihistamine soon.

It's all in my mind. But it still hurts.

Some of that volume is taken up by fur.

Well, that explains the hairballs.

I loved watching my dolll-faced Persian shake. She would shake, look around, and go back to looking dignified and miffed. Never failed to crack me up.

The Hounds do it, and I can't decide if the Boxer or the Pibble looks more ridiculous.

How delightfully Lovecraftian.

I'm allergic too but my two black balls of fur are curled up sleeping by the fire. When they wake up, they will ascend my legs like they are Everest, using their claws as crampons. Once they reach my shoulders, they will flop down and go back to sleep, purring gently, the rumble of pure contentment a stereo surround sensation.

I would like to thank those cats who added a 'derp' tongue to the shake. Ahahahaha. Aha.

Are the hairless ones usually that slobbery? Most cats I know are of the opinion that the drooling thing is a characteristic of the inferior dog species. Maybe it's impersonating a dog?

Or maybe those are all symptoms of you falling in love with the lovely cats. I will put a kitten in your secret quonsar package. That way we can investigate love and science.

I've had a couple of dribbly slobbery furry cats so I don't think it's anything to do with the lack of fur, just that some cats can be like that in general.

I so need to get one of these photos of my cats. I'm totally not above pouring some water on them for amusement.

most of my lung capacity is actually devoted to screaming at the cats for their misdeeds

Ah the screaming honeymoon phase, before the human-cat relationship settles into years of sullen stares and biting sarcasm.
