I received an email from them stating that someone had a crush on me and I had to sign up to see who it was. So I sign up and enter my account where I am supposed to find out who has a crush on me. All was for naught as I find out I have to "guess" who it was that sent a crush by typing in email addresses until I "guess correctly" my crush's email.
Neat little way to collect "live" email addys, that is those that are in use. I say hack them. posted by Why at 9:16 AM on March 11, 2002
A few days ago I read a very funny account of someone's attempt to find out who had a crush on him, using this "service"(which ended, after many trials, with his being informed "currently we know of no one who has a crush on you"). Does anyone have a better memory than I do? posted by MiguelCardoso at 9:21 AM on March 11, 2002

I'm game, Why. Whom shall we choose? posted by MiguelCardoso at 9:23 AM on March 11, 2002
Tom Anderson. FWIW, does anyone else think Tom Anderson is a very generic (lol) and suspicious name? posted by Why at 9:29 AM on March 11, 2002

Sweet. First time anyone has almost double posted (triple, if you go back far enough) one of my links!
I would be very interested in hearing about anyone's stories about getting to the end of the "hint" path. It's an effective slimeball marketing tactic -- even though I'm smart enough not to, I'm always tempted. posted by fnirt at 9:44 AM on March 11, 2002

OK, Why. Considering our own Tom Anderson has been spamming me daily for years, ever since I foolishly bought some domain names from his company, I agree with the nomination but can't find his address. I vonder vy! posted by MiguelCardoso at 10:16 AM on March 11, 2002
I got one of these the other day as well. I had no idea this was a scam...thanks for the heads up! posted by kittyloop at 12:39 PM on March 11, 2002
This is somewhat related. Not sure if it's a scam though. posted by bloggboy at 12:59 PM on March 11, 2002
Here's my current list of spam artists I block at Yahoo -- feel free to see if any of them have a crush on you
