With Bob & David

Huh, a new show on Netflix. "W/ Bob & David." It's sketch comedy. Wait a second... BOB and DAVID? OMG MR. SHOW IS BACK! Here's a country music video parody from them!

The Verge and The AV Club chime in. It has most of the old cast, too! Mr. Show, previously, 2.

Watching it right now. Pretty much has the whole old major cast. They still have the chops.

And Keegan Michael Key just pulled a cameo. As a cop.

This is great. The intro was nightmare fuel, though.

Yeah, I also miss the old Mr. Show theme song.

They still have the comedy chops, but what I find interesting is that some of these guys (Odenkirk especially) have actually done serious acting in the intervening years, and it shows. I'm not sure if that makes the comedy more or less enjoyable, though.

The intro, in case you hadn't noticed the distinctive style, is animated by Cyriak! That fact is revealed in this interview with IndieWire, where David Cross says nice things about him.

Thanks. Was partially hoping it was going to be more from C.S. Lewis Jr.

everywhere you look, there’s the specter of the forthcoming Fuller House.
Nowhere that I have looked has there been a specter of that. I must not be looking in the right places.

Blew threw it last night before seeing the Paris news. Definitely watch the 5th episode/making of. I didn't catch the "This ain't no show, Mister." joke until they mentioned it in the making of.

I was very very sad to see that there were only 4 episodes though. I mean, I understand. I was just... I mean... can't a fella hope for just a bit more? That said it's hard to make quality stuff, and I suppose in some ways this maybe more of a teaser? I hope that the next season is more or that they release it on a more regular basis than once a year, because ouch.

Yeah it's not Mr. Show. And maybe it's not quite as zany as it used to be, but people grow older. Sometimes that's good. The refinement is nice. It's so nice to see them praising each other for their talents, you can tell they all love each other very much.

I definitely had some LOL moments and was pleased when it dawned on me that it was Cyriak that did the intro. It's no Mr. Show Theme Song, but again - this isn't a show, Mister.

So is that intro done by that guy who does those things?

On preview: yeah that guy. :-)
