Art as physical daydreaming.

“I used to wear these?” he thought. And so, out of curiosity, he tried a pair on. “And that’s all it took,” he says. “One pair of shoes and I was, ‘Oh wow!’”

Memory is a curious thing. You don't have to consciously remember it for things to remain, it seems.

RIP Bing Bong.

This was an incredible story. Perhaps the most astonishing thing, for me, was the part where the Twitter jerk actually pulled a mea-culpa and walked it back when confronted with his stupidity, instead of doubling down and shooting for the maximum asshole score, as happens 99.999% of the time.

It had a painstakingly realised bar – the Ruined Stocking Cat Fight Club

I would totally drink at a place called the Ruined Stocking Cat Fight Club, though I might not sit with my back to the door.

That struck me as important, too.

Fantastic article, thanks for sharing.

Different sex is not a different species.

Well, yeah, and I doubt he's literally compiled a comprehensive list of all the animals in the world—dogs, cats, raccoons, elephants—that have been mean to him. It's just an off-the-cuff comment by a regular joe during the course of a likely uncomfortable interview. And from context, I think his meaning is clear. Probably best not to parse every word for scientific accuracy.

For some brain-crossed reason, I thought this was going to be about Claude Cahun.

Funny that you jumped to that because I jumped to "He's been attacked by whales?! And koalas?! And cobras?!"

I don't know why we're riding an off-the-cuff remark from a man with traumatic brain injury so hard. It feels awfully mean.

Agreed, rtha. Maybe we could discuss how fucking fantastic the documentary is, and where it can be found now that Netflix and Amazon no longer offer it.

Today is the Transgender Day of Rememberence. I'm very glad he is not somebody we can only remember now.
