Oddly moving.

Pretty good year so far. Just from watching that - Mad Max, It Follows, Dope, Sicario and Spotlight were all personal standouts, and I still have Hateful Eight and The Revenant to look forward to (amongst others).

Oddly moving.

It's a trailers job to be manipulative so I guess this is a lot of that all at once. I was particularly impressed at how well the combo of a particular movie and an upsurge in the music worked in part three.

Oh, and props to Sonoya Mizuno and Oscar Isaac on their epic skillz.

I don't feel like I had time to go out to the movies much this year but I guess that I saw nine of those.

Every movie I saw this year was in there, so good show.

My rule is, if I know I'll see the movie no matter what, I don't watch its trailer. I know *nothing* about Star Wars, Superman v Batman, Civil War, etc.

It's been awesome. I love everything now.

I haven't seen nine but I could probably make a good guess which they were and certainly a better sketch about which had distinctly derivative scenes. ;-)

This is very entertaining overall, but man, the match-on-action segments of the middle segment was some outstanding work. Bravo.

Superman v Batman

There is a "fixed" S v B trailer out there that avoids the massive spoilers in the most recent one. It's actually ... good?

Have you noticed the internet in the last 18 hours since the BATMAN V SUPERMAN trailer dropped? You’d think those two were real people actually slugging it out for all the coverage that’s gotten. And don’t even get me started on THE FORCE AWAKENS trailer. We’re lucky to still have a functional world wide web after that.

Your Internet is not my Internet.

Fantastic rule. I did extended fieldwork without internet access for a while, and missed every movie trailer that year. Totally inadvertent, but it dramatically improved my film watching experience. Like, I remember seeing Pacific Rim, of all movies, and being super delighted at everything because I went in without knowing anything except that a friend recommended it. ("OMG are those giant robots? Wait Idris Elba?? Oh no way Charlie Day's in this! Oh shit this is great!")

It's hard to keep up but 100% worthwhile when you can. The part where it really breaks down is when you see trailers in theaters, though.

I've been watching the BvS trailers the second they drop because I'm hunting for a reason to watch it. Haven't seen a reason yet. I've decided that if I don't see at least a tepid response in reviews, I'm not going. Which I never ever thought I'd say about a Batman or Superman movie, but I know what heartbreak is coming.

Do what Mrs. CoB and I do. She has zero tolerance for trailers -- at all, of any sort -- and therefore waits outside the theater while I sit in there and text her "Movie's starting" when the trailers are over.

Do they make any non-SF/F/H movies any more? From this mashup it certainly doesn't look like it.

There were two scenes from Room. Which was the best movie I saw this year, besides Hard to be a God.

Probably going to see that tonight. Sounds a bit grim TBH.

Room is really, really good. Not really quite what I expected.
