List some good songs. As long as it's not love songs. And not country songs. I have a friend going through a divorce and she says that she can't get away from love songs on the radio. After listening to KROQ here in LA for an hour, I see her dilema.

This post was deleted for the following reason:

Weezer / "Say It Ain't So" ... Pixies / "Where Is My Mind?" ... Pearl Jam / "Corduroy" ... Burning Airlines / "Everything Here Is New" ... Liz Phair / "Divorce Song" ... or, for that matter, most any electronica/techno/buzzword-of-choice. The title track of the new Chemical Brothers record, Come With Us, has been stuck in my head for a while.

Tell your friend to try KCRW 89.9.

i'm sorry that your friend's going through a divorce, tsarfan.

i'm not sure, though, if i think this posting should stand; the link doesn't seem terribly interesting (gee, the top 200 on the billboard charts?) and it does seem like this thread is merely fishing for discussion.

what gives, tsarfan?

The Pixies' "Wave of Mutilation" always cheers me up.

I can't believe you linked the Billboard 200.

I can't believe you linked the Billboard 200 AND you didn't realize Mary J.'s No More Drama is the answer to the complaint at hand, right there at number 15.

Mmmm, Mary J....

even though Matt has written that it's ok not to include a link if it isn't necessary, and i dont think it's necessary here, i thought that since the dilema is interesting (to me) that the Billboard top 200 is a good place to see how many silly love songs are being sold and sung.

i posted a topic around Christmas time asking for good Christmas songs and this talented group came up with tons of them, so I thought who better to provide good responses to this inquiry.

btw, mrhappy, Kim Deal and the Pixies always cheers me up too.

Doesn't sound like anything a little Linkin Park couldn't fix.

KROQ has sucked since they got rid of Ian Whitcomb and Phil Proctor. Is Rodney on the ROQ still on?

my impression was that matt intended for linkless posts in the case of stuff like the terrorist attacks in september or if california were rocked by a large earthquake.
