The old religions were the best religions: death is getting dipped in a magical cauldron to be reborn, gilded, to ride horseback into the sun. Plus, boar helmets.

It's like a Terry Gilliam Monty Python animation, with fewer "Phbbbbttt!" noises.

It's at this cold, dark seaon that I think it's particularly important that we gather the people we love around us, whether they be family or friends, and reflect on the events of the past year; and to remember that Woden the Allfather is waiting for us in his mead-hall, where we will feast for eternity, and where he will arm us and lead us in the great battle at the end of the world.

Helpless giggling at the animation. So wonderful.

This is the most fun I have ever had looking at someone's first attempt at After Effects. The sounds make it, really.

I saw this at the British Museum Celts exhibition, it's really impressive.

The Wikipedia page has a lot of theories, some more plausible than others, about the imagery. But the BM emphasised that there are no written records by or about most of the cultures bracketed as "Celts". These are essentially unknown stories about unknown and unnamed gods.
