"Britney Underground takes you on a tour of poignant urban artistry in a time of crisis." it's a nice collection of graffti from britney spears posters in new york, pretty funny. the negative emails are possibly the highlight.

Very cool link.

"what loosers we have living here LOOSERS all LOOSERS ! And what is sad is that Britney is one of the people who is not a looser she made a carrer and is doing what she loves to do"

I guess if you're gonna misspell a word (loser), at least be consistent.

This was a doubly fun site for my girlfriend and me, as we got to go through the pictures and figure out which ones we used to see every day. I think both of the "skulled" posters are from 14th St.

I lived in NYC back when Les Misérables was coming to town, with one of the first saturation poster campaigns. This was also when the NYCTA had first installed bus shelters throughout the city capable of holding these large-format, backlit advertisements, inside break-resistant and marker-resistant plastic. It wasn't long before almost every one of them had been drawn on in some way.

Wow, I'm glad I'm not the only one who went around taking pictures of the defacements. Maybe I should post my shots of the Michael Jackson posters that were up around the same time.

For what it's worth, people apparently like MJ better than Britney.
