Read this a few days ago. Bordwell is amazing as usual.

I recommend Bordwell & Thompson's Film Art to my animation students every year as very few of them have a film school background. They do such a great job of easing the reader into really looking and listening and thinking about film vocabulary. This is a lovely example.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to reading this! "Panic in the streets" is a favourite and Bordwell is ... well, I don't know any film writer like him.

Agreed. His site looks like it will take a while to fully digest; perfect for the holidays. Mucho joy! Thanks for posting this.

Foci for Analysis: "Wow, the entire site is amazing."

But so badly organized. I feel like I want to write my own index for it.

This was great. And I'm glad Scott Walker didn't chase him away from UW.
