As the year draws to a close, and with all its highs and lows, maybe it's time to just sit back and say: awwww.

All kids should have a dog or cat buddy.

Thank you. I needed to see this post today. Having a bad time these past couple of days, and this brought much needed light and joy into my world.

The cat being held by the kid pushing on the screen door has a great expression, half "WTF?" and half simply resigned.

Someone has to clean up that milk.

I mean, it's no use crying over it.

Picture two, with the dogs and the small child looking through the fence is awesome.

Peace.

Happy New Year to all.

THE HUMAN IS CRYING BUT MY PAWS ARE TOO TINY TO HUG HIM

I interrupted whatever important things my husband is currently doing and made him come sit with me while we went through these together. It was totally worth it.

Our favourite was the child and cat on the swing. That is one relaxed and confident cat enjoying a hug with it's friend.

Awwwwww. I'm pregnant with my first kid, and have two dogs who don't yet know what they're in store for. The German Shepherd mix will mostly just appreciate having another human pack member to watch over. The Malamute though... He loves babies and small children like no dog I've ever seen. He's going to be over the moon when he realizes we get to keep one of these little gods for our very own, and maybe he can even sniff baby or MAKE EYE CONTACT or CUDDLE GENTLY.

I'm just looking forward to having a pair of built-in cleaners when we get to the solid foods stage.

I don't even roll with babies like that and I loved this.

The third one (christmas tree) I saw a few days ago on Twitter and it got me. Is that a greyhound? The picture was beautifully staged, or else it was an astounding piece of luck to have a camera in hand at the moment.

(Even if there were no other reasons to want a dog for your kid, it's emerged in recent years that kids who grow up with dogs have a lot lower incidence of auto-immune diseases like asthma. Now back to your regularly scheduled daaawww.)

As an adult who grew up with childhood animal allergies, I'm faced with competing emotions when I see pictures like this, first the standard, "AWWWW" then the "Dammit! Why couldn't I have that!"

Then I go home and take some more benedryl and snuggle the puppy and it's all good.

Also, any picture of a short child and a similarly sized dog or cat peeking over the edge of something is an automatic win for me.

I especially love the pictures of giant dogs and tiny children. Shades of Hagrid and Harry.

Here's one more. I am not only a sucker for kids and dogs, but I am doubly so when the babies are crawling and the dogs do the same.

The kitties and the toddler lapping up the milk made me laugh so hard, thank you :-)

All the pictures are gorgeous. So much love between those pets and their mini humans.
