Hiérophante - Clichés. Pattern recognition software used to collate myriad random, themed still images (selfies &c) for a music video. Surprising fluidity is achieved.

Top-left corner maintains the list of hashtags used as the first pass filter. Pattern recognition and image shift/rotation used to align images for animation.

Aw, heck, I should have read the reddit thread.

It may have been done before: Vemödalen: The Fear That Everything Has Already Been Done, Flashings in the Mirror , Sharing a beautiful sunset , YTMND Lohan Facial, and probably others...

So the video calling out clichés is in itself a cliché.

As has been said before and will be said again, I find comfort and strength in how we are alike, it's what makes us human together.

According to the artist on Twitter, it's actually all done by hand. Which is disappointing as a "look at this cool use of computer vision software" example, but makes it maybe cooler as just an animation effort which must have taken a lot of work.

It's funny, but I did sort of judge the content of the video differently when I learned it as mostly done by hand instead of being done by a computer algorithm.

Neat video, but I found the music a little underwhelming.

(Also, what the hell is the deal with selfies? Never taken one spontaneously, and never seen the point to it. Now, stop downloading that picture of my lawn!)

Oh wait, reading the other comments in this thread and at the link, I bet the video description was edited very recently. Snark rescinded!
