HP shareholders vote to acquire Compaq... or not? Stop me if you've heard this one before: One side has already declared victory while the other won't concede defeat until all the votes are counted. The margin appears to be less than one half of one percent, and a manual count is in the works.

the pain was enough to make a shy bald buddhist reflect and plan a mass murder..who said I lied to her...oh who said I lied because I never, I never, who said I lied because I never. And so I drank wine it became four, and when I fell on the floor I drank more..

The RealCities network (blech) of online newspaper sites is keeping a weblog on the HP-Compaq merger. The timestamps are off by about 3 hours, but it's a good use of the format nonetheless.

Clearly the Supreme Court needs to step in and declare that the merger has been approved, or the whole process of shareholder voting will lose legitimacy.

Manual count? Hmmm... Bush wins, for sure.
