2016 Hugo Awards: Last Day to Register to Nominate

Register for the 2016 Hugo Awards Although people can register for MidAmeriCon II at any time, only people who are registered by the end of today, Sunday, January 31, will be eligible to make nominations. Last year's Hugo awards were messed up because not enough people bothered to make nominations, so if this is something you care about and you're not already registered, now is your last chance.

Nominations opened a week ago and will continue until the end of March, so you have enough time to look into the different categories and even read a few things before completing your ballot. Then then actual election starts in April, and awards will be presented at the convention in August.

People who attended Sasquan last year or who are (somehow) already registered for Worldcon 75 in Helsinki next year are already eligible to make nominations.

A supporting membership costs $50. An attending membership (if you actually plan to go to Kansas City) is $185, and you can upgrade at any time for $135.

This post was deleted for the following reason: This doesn't actually have any content; it's just a note to go buy a membership and vote, which isn't a good metafilter post. -- Eyebrows McGee
