Jazz and hip-hop drummer Karriem Riggins and acclaimed DJ, J.Rocc collaborate in a 360° video where they put a live spin on two tunes from their dearly departed collaborator, J Dilla (previously: 1 2) -- "Lightworks" and "E=MC^2"

(Additional collaborations between DJs and drummers, previously)

Another Karriem Riggins Dilla Tribute is here.

J. Rocc has made four volumes of great "Thank You J. Dilla" mixes, as well. All of which were released via Madlib's "Rappcats" label:
Act 1
Act 2
Act 3
Act 4 (MP3 download only)

As much as I like the immersive 360 degree videos, the only reason this type of application is interesting is for times when something is happening in a tight space and you can't capture it all from one viewpoint (or if you want to do neat sound phasing stuff, making it seem like you're really moving your head around to focus on the DJ or the drummer). I keep spinning back to J.Rocc, but he's not nearly as visually interesting most of the time as Riggins.

Great live music, annoying way to experience it.

If you'd like to compare this tribute to the original productions: Lightworks (plus the audio re-worked for an official Stones Throw video; and going deeper, Raymond Scott's original Lightworks track) and E=MC2 (instrumental) (plus the samples).
