How the Fight Over Transgender Kids Got a Leading Sex Researcher Fired [NYMag]. "And if you look closely at what really happened — if you read the review (which CAMH has now pulled off of its website), speak with the activists who effectively wrote large swaths of it, examine the scientific evidence, and talk to former GIC clinicians and the parents of patients they worked with, it’s hard not to come to an uncomfortable, politically incorrect conclusion: Zucker’s defenders are right. This was a show trial." posted by PercussivePaul (3 comments total)

This post was deleted for the following reason: Hey, this is a super highly charged topic that we discussed recently, and if we are going to reasonably cover it again, it needs to be a much more in-depth presentation. -- taz

I've been close friends since childhood with someone who went through Zucker's care. The man is vile. Regressive and nasty and just yuck. Every trans person I know who has had anything to do with him has been cheering this news. And according to someone I know who works at CAMH, that feeling is shared by many staff.

And, frankly, NYMag's framing is really, really awful here. Painting the guy as some helpless victim. Gross.
