A pure love song to analyse you~Die~

Last month I was curious how many J-Pop songs referenced "the internet", and found this one (SLYT) . . . equal parts clever and disturbing . . .

clever use of social media software to create a zeitgeist video, and rather disturbing lyrics -- a translation is available in the yt comments.

This was Japanese singer Aimyon's (あいみょん) debut single last year on the Tower Records label. The social media software was Line, which was launched in Japan after the 3/11 disaster; the large emoji are "stickers" that are part of their business model apparently.

What app was that? Since they obviously aren't afraid of the Apple/Amazon IP lawyers, I am assuming that was a real chat application.

As mentioned in the small text above, that's LINE which is the most popular messaging app in Japan. (like WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger in many other countries). Everyone I know in Japan uses it (and I use it to communicate with them).
