I don't quite know what to make of the crazy chat stream on the site.

201 episodes, at about 30 minutes each - 6030 minutes, or 100.5 hours, so a little more than four days? Four days of streaming Julia Child. I'm in heaven!

I loved, in one of the earliest episodes, when she said "Take a perfectly ordinary 20 pound lobster...." It was a different world.

"...and a bit of wine for the cook!" was my favorite JC aside.

I would love to leave this streaming in my house just as background sound/sight/inspiration. What a woman!

Oh god, why did I choose to have children who will distract me from this by wanting attention and food or whatever

This is good but also remember that there is a lot of JC on YouTube. Just FYI.

I would LOVE a Plex channel which is just JC On Demand, 24/7.

This is true and also you could alternate with Marble Hornets/Slender Man videos to kill your appetite between shows so you don't get hungry and snack too much

But Norm is a cheater. Norm has tools no actual human has. Norm has a single router bit that will make a whole grand piano from scrap plywood and costs $17,000.

I am undaunted by speed runs of Five Nights at Freddy's - that is not the most soul-eviscerating part of any birthday party where fursuited robots attempt to sing.

"Why don't you want to play with me Daddy?" is icewater right down the spine.

"I do but I don't know how because none of the other kids wanted to play with me, so all of my games are by default stupid and worthless. When you play them you are radiant and fun, but you always are and you have friends, so I don't want to mess that up for you," is what I am thinking when I say, "Want to watch a cooking show with Daddy? We'll make it for Mommy!"

The brutal flipside of that is that I don't need Twitch.TV to make that happen.

Google fucked up making vids for a living pretty much forever in the past few years. The hilarious part is that the Goog, and all of their contemporaries, with all of their immense brains contemplating on increasing CPM, think they're not getting the shit end of that stick, when small content providers evaporate for other platforms.

Had not expected Twitch to become "videogames PLUS daytime PBS"

Tempted to leave it on to see the "vegetarian" dish that I saw her make once, including two-dozen crepes and a pound of butter. So healthy and light.

Julia Child worked for the OSS during World War II and was highly regarded. You can read her declassified personnel report online.

Comment from the Twitch chat:

"paula deen would have a heart attack if she had to do this with no editing lol"

Exactly! These old shows are all ONE TAKE! And you can tell when she's got extra time at the end and has to find things to keep talking about.
