I was already predisposed to love this due to my love of weaponized cuteness, but she's managed to include the major symbols from the Rider-Waite deck perfectly, somehow, and that just makes it better.

Would this be an okay place to drop this Twin Peaks tarot done by Benjamin Mackey?

The Empress Card from the tarot gave me half of my MeFi name. The HuffPost explanation of the card doesn't quite get the card right as I understand it; "feminine energy" is involved, yeah, but there's more of an earthy, sensual angle rather than an airy spiritual one. Think more like a hippie earth mother type. The princess kitty with jewels sort of gets it with the "indulge in sensual pleasures and enjoy yourself" aspect, but...rather than that cutesy kitten, imagine a really self-satisfied cat, sprawled on her back in a sunbeam, all four paws up and purring, one eye open just a bit to give you a look like "yeah, I'm awesome."

That is the happiest Tower card I've ever seen.

That Twin Peaks tarot deck = DAMN fine tarot deck.

....y'know, I can't seem to find a Lisa Frank squirrel on a GIS search. Huh.

The search did, however, some how pull up Milhouse's mom Luann dressed as a sexy squirrel, so Thanks, Internet.

Instinctively I want to hate this on principle, but when I look at the actual design of the cards, they are being done with their own internal symbolism that relates to and respects traditional Tarot, and I could see this actually being a decent deck to do readings with, like at a party weekend or something. All the readings would be sparkly and life would be full of rainbows, but there's nothing wrong with that.

Holy crap I was damned near blinded when I clicked on the HuffPo link. That is some weapons grade Frank.

I totally want a Binder with that Death Card all the Jennifers in 6th Grade English will be totes jelly.

I know very little about Tarot but these are fantastic. I'm amazed but not saddened that Lisa Frank stuff is still looked at favorably all these years later. So much of the 80s art, fashion, pop culture just makes me wonder what any of us were thinking. Not Lisa Frank - it's just pure joy.

I once saw Weapons Grade Frank open for All the Jennifers in 6th Grade English.

I really really really need someone to make a Golden Girls tarot. I actually can't understand why no one has done it yet.

If we're talking about awesome Tarot decks I feel like I have to mention the Tarot of the Silicon Dawn by Mefi's own egypturnash. I have a copy, it's stunningly gorgeous as well as being delightfully gender-fluid and futuristic (plus it comes in a snazzy box! I can't praise it highly enough, really.)

holborne, would the Golden Girls tarot be just the major arcana? If there are suits what would they be? Or would each Girl be a suit? Blanche is cups, Rose is pentacles, Dorothy is swords, Sophia is rods? Or maybe Rose and Blanche are swapped... Would it be like individual moments from the episodes? Because I'm not sure there are enough regular characters to fill a deck, although you could include stuff like a cheesecake for the Wheel of Fortune. Oh man now every time I catch a rerun I'm gonna be thinking about this.

I feel like we all need to save these pictures and download them somewhere before Lisa Frank forces the artist to take them down.

I also can't wait until I get access to a color printer and lamination machine (at my volunteer job, currently closed for two weeks) so I can make my own cards of awesome. Even though I've saved copies, I hope they are still online by the time I can do that.

The Carmen Miranda banana on the Devil card just pushed, "Saw Carmen and the devil walkin' side by siiiide" into my head. This is before smoking the weed.

holborne, would the Golden Girls tarot be just the major arcana? If there are suits what would they be?

So I'm thinking that Blanche would be Queen of pentacles, Rose would be Queen of cups, Dorothy would be Queen of swords, and Sophia would be Queen of rods (more or less what you said). Then probably the Major Arcana and other court cards would be moments from the show, as you said, and various characters, some regular and some not -- like Stan could be The Fool, the Leslie Nielsen character Dorothy marries at the end could be Death, Mr. Ha Ha the Clown could be The Hanged Man, and so forth. The pip cards could probably be pretty plain, with cheesecakes as pentacles, Blanche's Chinese vase as cups -- past that I'd have to think about it.

Can you tell I've seen too many episodes of this show?
