Hey, they launched GMail 12 years ago today, so this is perfectly legit.

I look forward to April Fool's on the internet every year! I'm not creative or imaginative enough to pull off most of these jokes, but I get a kick out of them.

The kids taking the bike out alone is pretty hilarious.

I usually hate all of the April 1st bullshit, but this was satirical enough and comedically self-aware enough to be delightful.

We've already got people texting while biking in Tokyo. I fully expect evolution to resolve this issue within a generation or two.

Close the contest, it's over - this was the greatest April Fools' prank of the year.

Not to be confused with their other, less fortunate, April Fools prank

I was waiting for someone to hit it with a hockey stick.

The little kids on the bike were funny, but actually... this is a good idea! Bike sharing programs are great, except that you have to pick up and drop off bikes at preapproved spots that may not be that close to where you're going. If a bike could just meet you wherever you are, you could ride it to your destination, and then the bike could go off to meet the next person, that would make bike sharing so much better. It would be like Uber for bikes.
