The Immortal David Bowie continues to make his presence felt with the release of the animated video for the closing track from ★, I Can't Give Everything Away. The video was created by Jonathan Barnbrook, who has done art direction for Bowie albums since 2002, and created the packaging for ★.

Track came on the radio again yesterday. I got a lump in my throat then, and it's here again now.

It's taking a long time, isn't it...

My favourite Blackstar track. Also the track I was listening to when I got the news alert that Bowie was gone. It's still a strangely comforting song to me. It feels like an apology.

Yeah a little choked up here.

I've been avoiding this specific song since he died. The lyrics and vocal delivery just get me. It's fascinating that his final song on his final album (well final album whose production and release he oversaw) has so many aural elements that hearken back to his 80's work. Somehow, those elements all work on this song where they didn't always work back then.

The bravery and grace in knowing what's coming and going to work writing a kickass concept album about it. The irony of the title of this track is that the album is a tremendous gift for us all, showing us all how to face the end with dignity, style and dancing all the way.

There is a sweetness to this song that I find comforting, along side the sadness of Bowie's passing (and they lyrics in general). The video is a nice compliment to the song. Thanks for posting this.

First time I was listening to Blackstar, I was going along, digging it, dealing with Bowie being gone, being comparably stoically bummed...and then this song came on and it just broke me. The perfect swan song.

I'd somehow never noticed that the word "everything" contained "very thin" before and thanks to that zoom in I doubt I'll forget. Hrm. Great song too, but they all are.

This is my favorite track too. Watch it full screen if at all possible. The bigger the better.

How many times can this man break my heart? At least once more.

I've held this in a browser window for a week, gathering strength to admit he's actually not coming back.
