Tareq Alsaadi performs gravity-defying aerobatics with the SAB Goblin Nitro radio-controlled helicopter — in one case, with some interesting LED patterns on the blades

That was amazing (starting shortly after 5:50 mark if you don't care about very technical details) and yeah, good luck dodging that thing when it's controlled by an AI.

Interesting stuff. But for all the exhaust and noise (1st video), I would have expected my lawn to have gotten a trim.

Rc engines are so much lighter and more powerful than real ones, it makes me wonder if the universe intended humans to be smaller.

So looks a bit like my drone flying skills, except that he consistently manages to miss the ground. Looks like I could get roughly 0.2 seconds of entertainment out of it if I bought my own.

Those first two (outdoor) videos look really weird with the rolling shutter effect, making it look like the main rotor is mostly motionless and sometimes bent.

The thing looks completely out of control in the second video. It wasn't until he touched down that I was convinced he was in control.

Aerobatic RC helo pilots are amazing. I used to fly my little quadcopters at a field where heli pilots also flew (until the city banned FPV -- I no longer fly for this reason) and watching them practice these tricks was amazing. I don't really want to buy into another expensive RC hobby with the future of RC in the US so in doubt, but i do daydream about dropping a few hundred dollars on one of these and then promptly crashing it...
