Baton Rouge, Louisiana, dance studio En Pointe is breaking out on Tumblr for its images of its young dancers:
students of all ages, tiny beginners, a girl cuddling with her teacher while she waits for her mother, the older girls who have won dancers of the year .

The girls are even taught to dye their pointe shoes to match their skin tones. Diversity in ballet continues to be an ongoing conversation, moved forward by ballerinas like Misty Copeland and organizations like Brown Girls Do Ballet. Sorry, I know my BTR landmarks pretty well, and I can't believe these young ladies are getting any attention outside of our little town.
