The kids call it

A friend of mine was just showing me some Ritchie Jackson skating videos. It reminds me of the weirder Rodney Mullen (aka the inventor of nearly every street skating trick known to man) stuff. I love it when skate dudes try weird stuff or play off of the terrain/obstacles in the area! Thanks for this.

Something to show the kids. I think. Yeah, definitely.

I do enjoy watching grown men (and ladies) fall off planks.

I've seen that great Ritchie Jackson part before, and enjoyed it immensely, but that Jusovic set is mental - such a real expression of how silly skating can be. Great post, thanks!

I love these, thanks carsonb! I only knew of Ritchie Jackson and a short fun video by William Spencer.

Proof that you can indeed skate anything.

Dig it. A mashup of parkour and skateboarding.

Glad y'all dig 'em. I stayed up way too late last night watching skate videos, when I could have just stopped after watching Jackson skate that plastic barrier down the spiral staircase on the 110. Too bad you don't really see the context of where that stair is located: it's smack-dab in the middle of a freeway interchange (I-5 & CA 110).

Here's my favorite Gou Miyagi video.

This is really awesome, and it's so cool to see people invent new ways to do things. But, I want to buy them all helmets.

I was just thinking today - hey no one's invented a skateboard with super wide trucks to run on standard gauge railway tracks......which lead me to this awesomeness

This is definitely cool, inflatablekiwi!

(Although --and please don't think I'm pedantic, it's more of an apropos of sorts -- Bratislava's tram system uses meter gauge railways (~3' 3,5") as opposed to the standard gauge (4′ 8,5″). His EUR-pallet would be too small for standard gauge.)

Any sufficiently advanced skateboard trick is indistinguishable from magic...or early Jackie Chan.

Btw, do you know who plays the cover of Willie the pimp in the first vid. ?
