I'll admit that I did google the phone after watching!

I'm not the hugest fan of Mamamoo, but I'm very glad to see that they've become one of the most popular Korean girl groups, a by-product of last year's catchy, feel-good hit Um Oh Ah Yeah. That got people to notice them and they have what it takes to keep the attention.

It was pleasant sounding...but it ain't go nothing on Guy with Glasses' "Can You Hear Me, Now?"

A brief look back on previous South Korean mobile phone advertisements as music videos:

Lee Hyori - Anyclub, Anymotion, Anystar (2006) (Samsung)
Anyband (featuring industry heavyweights BoA, Junsu and Tablo) - AnyCall (2007) (Samsung)
Bi (Rain) - Anydream (2008) (Samsung)
Son Dam Bi & After School - AMOLED (2009) (Samsung)
Big Bang & 2NE1 - Lollipop (2009) (LG)
Girls' Generation - Cooky (2009) (LG)
Girls' Generation - Chocolate Love (2009) (LG)
f(x) - Chocolate Love (2009) (LG)
2PM - My Color (2009) (Samsung)
miss A - Love Again (2010) (Samsung)
Win The Day by around 30 performers from several groups (2012) (Samsung)
EXID - Up & Down (2015) (Special version for LG)

Somewhat related: the song Hello B*tches by CL from 2NE1 used in a T-Mobile commercial in the US.

I'd say Up & Down is the catchiest song of them all (and its stratospheric popularity saved EXID from disbanding, which I'm thankful for), but if you want to limit the selection to songs created especially for commercials, Lollipop takes the cake.

Thanks so much for that list, Warm Summer Night! I suspected that there were others but had no idea there were so many!

Reminds me of a Korean take on TLC - nice retro-'90s R&B aesthetic.

So was that blocky yellow thing they were sticking in their phones extra memory?

To be precise, it was this fancam that saved them

I prefer my cellphone jingles bleepy and bloopy. (Capsule, "Hello")

Nah. Modularity. That is an accessory module HTC is trying to introduce as A Thing. Higher rez camera, speakers, more battery... unslot, re-slot, reboot, it's weird and awful.

Motorola has proved the concept stupid by offering external contacts and magnets on their most recent flagship phone for extensibility. Lenovo is in the position of gesturing aggressively around their Moto subdivision to build the HYPE. You can stick accessories to the side of the latest Moto superphone, and give them a surprising amount of control over the SOC, and also JBL speakers.

All while running bone-stock Android.

AMOLED is still my jam! RIP both After School and Son DamBi's careers...Now only if the iPhones would switch to AMOLED screens. Great compilation Warm Summer Night!
