Apparently it was never the LHC we had to worry about ending the world. The thing we should be fearing is a Schrödinger's cat trying to sits on The Edge's amp while he's playing his infinite guitar effects.

Maybe these pics are the album covers for their kitty rock bands.

My first thought on seeing this was "What is the platonic ideal of a cat amp?, What tone could convey/match that depthless level of zen indifference?" Took a bit of scrolling, but I found it, Roland Jazz Chorus! (with bonus photobombing doge!)

I'm surprised not to see this here previously, but:

This is why they play with amps: cats on subwoofers.

True story ... I played bass in a cover band in college and the house where we practiced included several cats. One practice time during a break one of the cats crawled into my open-bottomed speaker cabinet, unbeknownst to any of us. When we returned and hit the first note that cat shot out of the cabinet like its tail was on fire!

I know one thing: either those amps are off, or the cats are deaf.

When I first started playing guitar I noticed that scraping my pick along the frets between two strings would clear any animals out of the room. Now the cats barely lift their heads. It still works on the fucking chihuahua. So I got that going for me, which is nice.

For me, it would have to be some kind of fluff-monster on an Orange, with the riff from Dopesmoker presumably blaring through it. Here's a couple candidates.

The two links in the FPP are actually by different people. From my understanding, good friend (and mefite) cinchel started the Cats On Amps tumblr years ago. Then these two guys did the instagram version that they leveraged into tons of shirts, a mug, a kickstarter for a calendar, press in Wired, etc. It's hard to get too worked up over cats on amps, I guess, but a bit of permission/attribution/etc from those guys would've been nice.
