THIS IS SIMULTANEOUSLY THE BEST AND THE WORST VIDEO IVE EVER SEEN

This one of the strangest videos I've seen in some time. I have no idea how these people got their cats wedged into their Evanescence, or why.

At least link to the original video, not some pixellated repost garbage.

I couldn't make it through that. Just a warning for animal lovers that this "cover" is made up entirely (of what I could make it through) of animals in distress.

well, it's not any worse than the original song.

It's missing the subliminal religious imagery in the original video (before they got rid of all that after being quite happy to ride the 'Christian band' thing to initial recognition).

Strangely halo-like fluorescent lights above the band members and all that.

Amy Lee has a serious set of pipes on her though in fairness.

I grumbled through the first bit because damn I'm tired of people filming sad and frightened animals for fun...but I admit I lost it at the rooster, who was in no way sad or frightened.

Horrible pedant; the song is actually called "Bring Me To Life".

I never thought there'd actually be an Evanescence cover thread, but...here we are.

Goofy sings Bring Me to Life

Evanescence is a sort of milestone in my life, as it marked the first time that I can recall hearing a popular song on the radio that immediately induced me to grumble "So this is the kind of crap kids are listening to these days? Feh!"

And 'twas then that I knew I was olden.

And, hilariously, not long after there was at least one Explicitly Christian Band on a Christian Label doing what I'd call a "Bring Me to Life" style parody if it were intended to be funny rather than "Hey kids! This is what's cool now, right?"

Attention Metafilter: It would appear the FPP I made on my iPhone while running was not thoroughly fact-checked. The song is “Bring me to Life” by Evanescence. We at Metafilter dot com do not endorse shoddy and inaccurate meme journalism, and so do dearly apologize for this error. We will make corrective efforts in the future to be better 2006 preteen goths.

Yes, I profoundly apologise that, inasmuch as the precise correlation between the information I communicated in this post and the facts, insofar as they can be determined and demonstrated, is such as to cause epistemological problems of sufficient magnitude as to lay upon the logical and semantic resources of internet memes and youtube videos a heavier burden than they can reasonably be expected to bear.

an "oops, lol" would have done the trick, really.
