like Tastespotting, if it were run by dietitians

Healthy Aperture, a site run by two registered dietitians, allows users to browse healthy recipe links by image (similar to Tastespotting and Tasteologie). You can filter by categories like "gluten-free," "vegan," "sugar-free," "paleo," and "nut-free." From the FAQ: The term “healthy” can be interpreted a number of different ways. We believe that while there are no “off limits” foods in an otherwise balanced diet, this site aims to showcase dishes that are primarily based in minimally processed, whole foods and provide at least one nutritional benefit.

If your food is not providing at least one nutritional benefit, then what are you eating? Cool Whip?

whole foods

"Interested in eating pomegranate seeds? Sorry, you can only eat them if you eat the whole rind as well! No avocado allowed unless you swallow the pit."

If you want a healthy aperture, eat plenty of fiber.

This is rather perfect for me right now, thanks for posting! My diet has changed drastically, as my baby doesn't do well with eggs, soy, dairy, or nuts - so it's been an adventure trying to put together meals i actually want to eat. On the plus side, yay losing baby weight by not being able to eat anything.

Edit - i do wish they would allow you to filter for more than one criteria though (vegan and soy free for life baby)

Ironically I think yogurt would make most people's "whole food" lists when it's often literally fractionated milk that's been engineered with the same degree of precision as a race car engine.

Also apparently beverages are only healthy if served in mason jars.

One of the recipes: "SERIOUSLY HEALTHY FUDGSICLES"

Hm, that might be overselling it a bit. A-not-completely-terrible-dessert might be more accurate.

That logo, though. Is this GLaDOS's new gig? Why should I trust any one of these recipes not to murder me?

Wait, that logo indeed... is healthy "aperture" all about high-fiber foods? What "aperture" are we talking about here?

Aperture science of course.

edit: damn beaten to it.

On my tablet, which I haven't rooted yet, so I don't have ad blocking, every recipe I clicked on led to a hot mess of pop ups and a million ads. Seriously, one recipe had 3 pop ups before I gave up and closed the page. I don't know when the ratio of content to ads became 1 part content to 10 parts crappy ads on food blogger sites, but damn y'all, unfiltered internet sucks.

This website led me to a recipe for "Homemade Lasagna in Jars," which I guess is for people who hate themselves?
