I'm a little embarrassed by how much I love Kate Bush. (Not because of the gifs page)

GIFs seem just a bit too antic a medium to capture the spirit of Kate Bush, personally I find her better represented by Ultra Slow Wuthering Heights.

Away? Some days, Kate Bush is the only one keeping my sanity intact.

As Voltaire's biographer Evelyn Beatrice Hall famously said, "I may not understand why people enjoy the heck out of Kate Bush, but I will defend to the death their right to do so." NOTE: this quote is often misattributed to Voltaire himself, common mistake.

I get onto my laptop
Open my browser
And look up at the gifs
And there's something bright
Traveling fast
Look at it go!
Look at it go!

Can we just go a week here without getting Wuthering Heights stuck in my head? No? Ok.

My current at-work Friday theme:
It's me, I'm lazy, I've gone Home. Let me log out of window-ow-ow-ows.

Apparently Melbourne did something for Kate Bush earlier this week?

Somewhat hard to find.

You'll have to gif it up yourself.

A friend of mine once explained the 3 Stages of Kate Bush to me (paraphrasing here, might not have the wording entirely correct):

Stage 1: Who is this weird lady, and what's with that banshee wailing?
Stage 2: I kind of like her music, but what's up with her voice?
Stage 3: I want to her to bear my children.

Hetero cis male here, but I pretty much understood this perspective after further exposure to her catalogue (most importantly, to any video at the time before YouTube that I could get a hold of).

Listening to Kate Bush albums is like spending time in the brain of that weird girl from high school who made her own clothes, and had a pet rat, and played the oboe, and knew about Elfquest.

How I love them so.

Thank you for this! I've loved Kate since the '80s when I first saw her on MTV and was mesmerized. Half clown, half faerie, and the only contemporary artist who comes close to her spirit is Joanna Newsom.

Oooh, Kate!

I was introduced to her in about 1989, or after "The Whole Story" compilation came out. I'd never heard the original vocal to Wuthering Heights, and might not have been sucked into her vortex if I did; the new vocal was pure magic to me, and still is.

Regardless of whether or not I am actually hearing her music, any mention of Kate Bush gives me automatic goosebumps...

So did Wellington (aka New Zealand's Melbourne): cute Facebook video

Adelaide and Hobart, too, I think. Beautiful.

Thank you all for motivating me to finally check out Kate Bush's music! (Why did it take so long? Shameful...)
