As the sun begins its downward descent on summer, we pause to take a deep breath of humid air with Pablo Grossi, Argentinian grandmaster-level vinyl digger and selector. 50 miles out from Buenos Aires, Pablo has discovered and traded in thousands of records around the region so that "people from here can know them and have them". Comprised mostly of his vinyl recordings, this exemplary showcase of Exotica is warm to the touch. Best served with ice and lime garnish.

Since the corporate nannyware at my current job blocks Soma FM but not Soundcloud, this is PERFECTO.

I think it's gonna be a Mai Tai Monday when I get home from work.

I was soooo confused when I read the description, until I realised that Astro Nautico is in New York. My geography isn't great, but it's not summer where I live and it's my suspicion is that it's not summer in Buenos Aires either :-)

As the sun begins its downward descent on summer

Yes, for us Northern Hemisphere types. Occurred to me today, as the BBC weather presenter talked about the "first frosty night in the Glens", that we are now closer to Halloween than to May Day. Also, Christmas is not very far away now and the shops are starting to do their thing.

This is great- I was sitting on my sofa, sweating in my underwear, but now I am transported to a heavily air-conditioned mid-century lounge, where I am wearing a mohair suit with a dark turtleneck and drinking Caipirinhas.

The one drawback is that I think the man in the plaid jacket might be a Russian assassin.
