I often drive past this gorgeous circa-1920s three-bay garage that's still used as an auto repair shop. On one occasion, very late at night, the center bay door was wide open. Gathered around a small card table, brilliantly lit by fluorescent shop lighting and framed by a couple cars with their hoods propped up, were about a half-dozen mechanics playing poker.

I've been by there many times since at varying hours and I've yet to see another poker game. I can only conclude that either the game must rotate between garages, or those players were all ghosts.

These are great. I like how they manage the odd postures in some of the paintings, notably the last one.
