I like this.

I read it at first as *nixing* paint colors and expected clips of people making faces at Lowes

This is the soothing thing I didn't realize I needed. Thanks!

Noooo, Stop! You're mixing it too much! All that beautiful marbling, smoothed out into a flat mess >_<

This is surprisingly beautiful, and satisfying on a level I can't quite articulate. Considering the fact though that i've spent the majority of my days at work over the last 3 weeks making paint from scratch from raw ingredients and in 5 gallon increments, i do find it a little less than what i'd hoped.

Several of them made me hungry. Like the brown, white and red one.

Seconding this. Not a case of the screaming Fantods, but the all swishing and blending and especially the near constant tiny clicking of the tool against the surface aroused a strange sense of disquiet in me. And the gestural finale of spreading the newly blended paint across the screen was too much like seeing the guts of a smashed insect spread on a windowpane for me.

brains are weird.

oh my god this is fascinating

The thing that gets me about these is the sheer confidence in mixing. I'll usually put a few globs of paint here and there on the palette and cut them together a bit at a time incrementally to get something close to the neighborhood I'm looking for. Maybe it's because I'm partially colorblind, but I can't imagine just thinking "I need X of A, Y of B, and one-half Z of C", laying out a pile, and just, you know, going to town like that. It's borderline obscene!

It's really fun to see all the techniques. I don't think I ever learned "how" to mix paint, and I love that everyone does it so differently.

Wow! To me it looks like mixing food coloring into buttercream and spreading it across a cake. (Which has strong childhood associations for me; my dad worked in a bakery when he was in high school, so he's done many many colored buttercreams for birthday cakes and Christmas cookies in my lifetime.) Brains!

Wow, this hits me right in the... well, wherever it was Bob Ross hit me. The colors make me salivate (for real) but the treat for me is those lovely mixing tools. Now daydreaming of a job where I could spend a morning with those, like First I’m gonna use this shiny flat teardrop, then I can bring out the teeny tiny cake server & make it all smoothlike. So, so satisfying.

Can I get this in app form so I can mix the colors too but without the mess?
