Fashion Dads — Fathers On Fleek (SLInstagram). Pleated Jeans has some of the better ones.

This post was deleted for the following reason: Sorry but while it seems like this might be a cute thing with willing participants, it's not really clear if some or many of the photos are of unsuspecting people (&/or ganked photos), and therefore more "shaming" and less gentle, loving "laughing-with." If you find more context about that, just let us know! -- taz

These are all just pictures of Tim Kaine.

how does

I mean

was every man of a given generation simply assigned a yellow polo shirt with thin horizontal stripes upon the birth of his first child, or

if you combine one of those yellow polo shirts with the thin horizontal stripes with blue slacks, long socks, bright white sneakers, and a baseball cap that is old enough to be noticeably old without looking deliberately old enough to be fashionable, and bring them all together in one place, do you get a sort of Dragon Ball style make-a-wish situation, except that instead of a wish you just sort of get really awful puns

As with all such things, I wonder how many of these people chose to submit photos of themselves and how many were "volunteered" for it by people who thought it would be funny.

This should really be a T-shirt.

So, older, heavy men in shorts are now objects of ridicule.

Your turn will come.

I thought this post was referring to the hipdads of places like Stoke Newington and Park Slope; you know, the GQ-model types with designer stubble and baby-sick-proof monochrome T-shirts wheeling little Sufjan, in his 6-12-sized Ramones onesie, around in an upmarket Scandinavian pram; but it turned out to be a lot more People Of Wal-Mart than that.

These all look like totally normal dad types to me. They all look happy and comfortable in the clothes they're wearing. Being fashionable may have been the last thing on their minds when they threw these outfits on, and that's FINE. Or maybe some of these outfits are carefully considered statements. We just don't know and that's also FINE.

Recently there have been some amazing contributions on MeFi about fashion, personal style and wearing what the fuck YOU want rather than what fashion prescribes (especially for those of us that are staring down the barrel of middle age). I'm finding it hard to combine that positive message with this link that says 'but we reserve the right to ridicule you on the internet'.

So now shaming is okay, but only if it's an older white dude? Just trying to keep up.
