"and i enjoyed it" Finally an honest politician. Is this a new trend in politics?

What caught my attention was the header that indicated that this is "entertainment" news.

specialk420:

Just doing a little meme-tracking here. Why did you title your post "and I enjoyed it"? I received an email from a friend yesterday on this same topic and his email to us, his friends, had the exact same title. Was it just a coincidence? Do our friends overlap?

vacapinta: d'you think maybe because that's the tagline in the NORML ad?

It seemed erie to just see the "and I enjoyed it" both in a private email and in a public post. That was not the title of the article. Also, the NORML ad uses the longer quote, prepending "You bet I did."

I'm also curious because this particular friend, Paul K. from NYC is what is known in Malcolm Gladwell terms as a connector (or a recommender, I forget which). He is *extremely* sociable and has hundreds of people he considers friends and he bombards us with NY events and news items all the time.

An interesting experiment with a closed community like Metafilter would be something like this: Everyone makes a list of friends that they think may know others on this site. You list your friends name and city with an emphasis on friends of yours who are sociable and perhaps hang out in many different social groups. Some small program matches up people's lists and further conversation between people then determines if they are in fact the same person.

Metafilter users make an ideal test bed for something like this because most Mefi people have similar backgrounds and interests but they are relative strangers. It would be fascinating to see how many people here actually have friends in common.

my mistake on the double post - missed that one yesterday - vacapinta... to answer your question ... no i do not know paul k... nor did a receive and email originating from him yesterday or today.... sound like the kind cat i'd enjoy having a brew with at the bowery bar or a similar watering hole. i'd just like to say... if i was a citizen of NYC id be more likely to vote for mr. bloomberg in light of his honesty -

Anyone else not surprised that a post about marijuana was made by someone with the username of "specialk420"?

(No offense, specialk420, I'd love to have a sesh with you and Mr. Bloomberg and, oh, Bill Clinton.)

Most potheads I have known are spaced out.

When was the last time you DIDN'T hear a pot head brag obout how powerful his current stash was? Is there any equivalent to 'just having one drink' to a pot smoker? Or do they always need to space to the max?

I stopped toking way back when we actually smoked the leaves! YEAH! Can you believe it! LEAVES!!!!! But then, we only wanted to get high, NOT to fly to uranus.

Alcohol equivalent would be to constantly brag about your stash of 200 proof li'ker (vs having a social beer.)
