When Mr. Willie Sings a Song You Wrote

Buddy Cannon's 92 year old mom, Lyndel Rhodes, wrote a song, House on a Hill, that Willie Nelson recently recorded and plans to put on his next album. This is her listening to it for the first time.

She's become a little bit of a facebook sensation the last few days. Here she briefly talks about it. This is the first song she's ever published. More on her son, music producer and songwriter, Buddy Cannon.

YouTube has some wonderful harmonica guitar duets by mother and son:
In the Sweet Bye and Bye
Tennessee Waltz
Blessed Assurance

This is not her first time finding internet fame. The Blessed Assurance video blew up and prompted her to record an album of gospel songs on her harmonica: Gospel Harmonica.

Thank you for posting, dog food sugar!

She may be 92 years old, but to me this is more proof that people are as young as they feel. I saw a young soul, giddy with anticipation while listening to a freaking music legend performing her song. (As much as I was charmed by her feet moving along to the beat, I also liked her vocal accompaniment and harmonies. She has music in her bones.)
