There's a guy in my office who has an irrational hatred of pandas and I'm going to make him watch this clockwork orange style until he weeps.

I wonder if IKEA still has that rainbow boa. If they traded it in for the dancing pizza slice, that's not a bad bargain.

This is a full year old and I hadn't heard it before? Neat. And it's a good standalone song, too, even catchier than Jonathan Coulton's earworm.

I was surprised by the pronunciation ee-KAY-AH, even in what I imagine to be Malaysian English. How's it pronounced elsewhere, I wonder.

Oh, I remember seeing this linked somewhere when it first came out and enjoying it immensely! It's a testament to its effectiveness as an ad that, one year later, when I clicked [more inside] and my eyes scanned across the word "Cheras" my brain immediately produced ♫~just get Cheras to Cheras!♫ without any further prompting.

Handy gif.

Gutsy client + clever agency = good ads. (The book-book is theirs, too.)

A friend of mine (who's Irish but grew up in Belgium) pronounced it “ee-kay-ah” (which I believe is also the Swedish pronunciation, and probably the pronunciation everywhere not subject to the English vowel shift). Having lived in Australia and Britain (monolingual anglophone countries where distinguishing oneself from the garlic-eating, non-cricket-playing, right-driving foreigners is a matter of national identity), I had only heard it pronounced “eye-key-ah” until then.
